South Padre, Texas, USA

South Padre, Texas was the first beach I had ever seen in my life. I was young, and enjoyed it; it was a welcomed contrast from my home in the Dallas suburbs. However, Padre doesn't stack up against the beaches in Florida. Many sections of the beaches have large spots of tar on the sands, and the weather isn't the tropical paradise many expect. Unless you live in southern Texas, and are within an hour drive, spend a little more, and fly to a sunnier region.

La Paz, Mexico

La Paz has become a popular destination for tourism around the world. The biggest attraction is the beaches, composed of very clean, white sand. The climate is comfortable, and ideal for tanning. The famous "mushroom" beach is a popular place for surfing, intertubing, and sunbathing. All beaches come with amenities, ranging from palapas, restrooms and showers to restaurants, bars and watersports rental equipment.

Destin, Florida, USA

Destin is beautiful. Nearly undescribable in beauty, Destin is a paradise not far from home. The beaches are the equivalent of that on Hawaii, or Rio. The waters are warm, and crystal clear. Surfing is rather enjoyable here, and the light breeze is very relaxing. When boating near the coast, dolphins are a common sight; there is a certain nostalgia that comes when one sees them jump out of the water.

The sand is very soft, and warm to the feet. Small children rush to defend their castles from the nearing tide. The sunset is amazing, simply amazing. When in Destin, you escape. Your job, your stress, your pain is all removed. The time spent in Destin has been one the most memorable moments for me and my family, and there isn't any doubt of it being the same for you and your family.
